In 1982 opened a law office in Brunswick, Georgia and has practiced law in Brunswick and the State of Georgia since 1982

Alan has lived in the Brunswick Judicial Circuit most of his life. He is 46 years old. He graduated in 1974 from Glynn Academy High School in Brunswick and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1978. He obtained his “Juris Doctorate” degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1981, and was immediately employed by the University of Georgia as a staff attorney and resided in Jesup, Georgia. In 1982, Alan returned to Brunswick, and opened a law office where he handles cases concerning Criminal Law, (which include DUI’s, Theft, Murder, Violations of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, minor traffic offenses, etc…), Personal Injury and Wrongful Death, Admiralty, Workers’ Compensation, Professional Malpractice, Residential and Commercial Construction, Real Estate and Business/Corporate Law. Since 1981, Alan has been involved in hundreds of trials and handled thousands of cases. He is admitted to practice law in all of the State of Georgia Trial and Probate Courts, The Georgia Court of Appeals, The Georgia Supreme Court, The Supreme Court of the United States, The United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, The United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, The United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia, The United States Tax Court, and The United States Court of Claims. He has also practiced in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Alan is currently a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Brunswick-Glynn County Bar Association and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Alan has been a professor for the Coastal Community College Paralegal Course and a lecturer to students of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms located at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick. For the past 6 years, Alan has participated as a “Judge” in the Georgia High School Mock Trial Court Competition. He was recognized in 1994 as an Honored Member of National Directories of “Who’s Who” in Executives and Professionals and in 1999 as an Honored Member of the Foxington “Who’s Who” of Executives and Professionals

He currently resides on St. Simons Island with his son A.J. and enjoys Hunting, Fishing, Snow Skiing, Scuba Diving and Surfing. He and his family are members of Christian Renewal Church.
